Simply the best.
Waterjet cutting is the most versatile, accurate approach and handles more types of materials with more simplicity than any other cutting method. Precision Waterjet Concepts offers:
Versatile parts production for many different types of materials with minimal setup time; efficient enough for every size product run, including prototypes and the ability to set up machinery with multiple cutting heads for high volume runs
Accuracy on a broader range of size, thickness, angle, tolerances and other measurements
State-of-the-art facility staffed with two shifts covering 20 hours per day
Efficiency with quick setup and fixturing to efficiently move from job to job, plus software-controlled, robotic motion systems (not hard tooling) to avoid time-consuming tool changes
Increased productivity from cool-cutting process allows stacking raw material and cutting multiple parts in a single pass; running multiple cutting heads simultaneously further increases productivity
Reduced need for costly secondary finishing since waterjets cut with erosion, rather than shearing or heat, to produce exceptional edge quality without inducing heat-affected zones or mechanical stresses
Raw material savings because abrasive waterjets cut with a narrow kerf and produce no heat
Complement to existing technologies such as routers, laser, milling and plasma cutting with enhanced productivity and profitability
No noxious gas or liquids used in the cutting process, which does not create any hazardous vapors or hazardous waste
Fully understanding waterjet cutting is helpful in realizing the true breadth of its benefits. 3D waterjet cutting involves spraying a concentrated stream of water at an object in order to cut or engrave it. One of the greatest benefits of water jet cutting is that it can be used to cut and engrave complex, intricate shapes out of and into almost any material. Waterjet cutters are so precise that they can produce kerfs, which is the word for the width of the cut, as narrow as .003”. Precision Waterjet Concepts’ waterjet cutting services can produce intricate and precise shapes out of heavy metals like titanium, steel and aluminum as well as out of soft materials like rubber and foam simply by spraying them with water. That spray can be accurate to .005” with a repeatability of .001”.
3D waterjet cutting does not cause any warping or compromise the integrity of cut parts in any other ways because no heat affected zone (sometimes called HAZ) is created during the process; this is often the case with other cutting and machining methods like blade and laser cutting. Such cutting methods can also produce hazardous gasses or fumes; waterjet cutting produces no such hazards. In the case of flat part cutting, parts can often be stacked and cut simultaneously, doubling, tripling, and sometimes even quadrupling output with comparatively little additional cost. In addition to all of this, waterjet cutting services are available in many varieties and can be customized to suit the individual needs of customers. Abrasive waterjet cutting, for example, combines abrasive media like fine silica with the water stream to help cut through and machine stubborn materials.
Waterjet cutting is one of the best cutting and machining methods, and Precision Waterjet Concepts has perfected it. Our state-of-the-art facility is staffed by experienced and innovative engineers equipped with the most advanced machinery. Our staff operates our 5 axis, 2 axis and other waterjet cutting and machining equipment 20 hours a day, allowing for the streamlined production of both high-volume projects and short run custom waterjet cutting projects alike. Our ability to produce parts for your company is limited only by your ability to imagine them; once provided with a design, our equipment can be configured and ready to start working within a few minutes.
We take pride in our intentional commitment to the sustainability of our operation. Our water and heat reclamation systems help us reduce water consumption and facility heating costs, which increases the efficiency of our process and greatly reduces its environmental impact. Our customers share in those benefits and help contribute to greener industry while reaping the benefits of the best, most efficient waterjet cutting service available.
Edge quality for water jet cut parts is defined with the numbers 1 through 5. Lower numbers indicate rougher edge finish; higher numbers are smoother. For thin materials, the difference in cutting speed for Quality 1 could be as much as 3 times faster than the speed for Quality 5. For thicker materials, Quality 1 could be 6 times faster than Quality 5. For example, 4” thick Aluminum Q5 would be 0.72 ipm (18 mm/min) and Q1 would be 4.2 ipm (107 mm/min), 5.8 times faster.[9]
